Hello, jet setters. Welcome back to another episode of Jet Setting with me. Are you ready to slip behind the velvet curtain of England's most enchanting secrets and discover how you can waltz straight into the dazzling world of Bridgerton this spring? Today I am sharing stories from my latest magical English adventure and revealing how you can join me and Cass Moran on Instagram for an unforgettable Bridgerton spring soiree. Trust me, this episode's gonna have you packing your bonnet and putting on your velvet slippers. Let's start with England. Oh, where to begin? I guess I should really say let's start with London. Imagine wandering the cobblestone streets where history whispers from every corner. Of course, the perfect cup of afternoon tea with a garden that looks like it was lifted straight from a Regency painting.
Kind of like the fragrant smell from the tea served at the Buckingham Palace Garden Cafe. They have their own special blend of tea that is inspired by the annual garden party held at Buckingham Palace. I think I said that right. It's not Buckingham. Like I used to say, it's Buckingham. The blend often includes those cornflower petals so you get an aromatic experience from their tea with hints of citrus and floral sweetness. Spoiler alert. Yes, I did buy some.
My favorite London moment. Speaking of Buckingham palace was something that visitors do not get to do year round. We were there just one week before the summer tourism season. Paused tours of Buckingham palace until next year. My excitement was off the charts. Getting to see a small portion of the Crown's art. The thrones of the current King and Queen and the Grand Portico. Yes, the Grand Portico that has been featured on shows like the Crown and Bridgerton and it is still in use today for some VIP visits.
I literally got to stand in the place. Or Churchill, Queen Elizabeth, Lady Di and Princess Catherine have all stood in the past. I felt truly like I was in the footsteps of royalty. This hard to remember all of the sensory details and the stories from the tour because photos are not allowed. But I do remember laughing when we walked into the throne room and seeing how small the thrones were for the current King and Queen. Now King Charles is undoubtedly a little taller than the previous monarch, his mother. So I felt like he must feel like he's sitting on a high chair like trying to reach the adults table, which you know, take that for what you will inference. But tradition is tradition and the current King's throne is made from his mums.
But it wasn't just London and London's grandeur that stole my heart. English countryside wrapped me in timeless beauty, the rolling hills, the very quaint villages, Stonehenge, and an estate that felt truly like a Bridgerton ballroom come to life. That could be because it features in a Bridgerton ballroom scene. That's right. I went to Bath. Visiting Bath was another highlight. It was a personal tour of the city where many season one scenes were filmed. We saw the front of the Featherington household.
That would be that estate that I briefly mentioned, the Modiste. Yes, I did buy the T shirt. You could have seen that on my Instagram stories and heard lively tales of Bath, including Jane Austen's own very conflicted feelings about the city. Now, I mentioned that I went to the Modiste. It's actually a deli. It's even a different deli than it was back when season one was filming. And it surrounds a courtyard of other unique stores, like a tea store, you know, souvenirs. And then really, some of the best cookies I had in England are sold on that street too.
There's this big, beautiful tree, which if you look hard at certain scenes with the Modiste, you can see the tree in some of those scenes really quickly. So our tour guide, which I'll talk more about him in just a second, told a story about his nephew's job on the filming of Bridgerton season one, and how one of his jobs was to have access to the Shondaland ATM card. And they had to pay all the traveling minstrels and violinists and instrumentals who come through that courtyard on a daily, hourly basis to pay them to be quiet. Of course, the going rate for that went up each day as they realized, the musicians realized just how desperate the Shondaland team was to get, you know, the best shots at the best time, during the best lighting. Also, the weather in Bath was unpredictable, to say the least. We had torrential rain and then sunshine and then torrential rain and then sunshine. So dress in layers. So our guide, Fred, he is a Bath native.
He's a formal journalist. He was a storyteller extraordinaire. And like I said, his nephew even worked with Shonda Lynn for that first season. So we got some insider BTS pics and some very juicy tales. You know what I'm going to say? Say it with me. Chef's Kiss. That tour was Chef's Kiss. And here is a little travel secret that I know.
Planning a trip that blends that luxury and that authenticity is all about the details. So it's knowing when to go, where to stay, and how to get those insider experiences that turn good trips into excellent Extra AF adventures like picking the right guides and drivers who bring out all the feels. So as your travel curator, I pour over every detail. So your journey is going to feel effortless and truly remarkable. Now for the moment we have been waiting for. How can you meet Fred and hear the tales? Tales of the Bard, the Bridgerton Spring Soiree. Imagine yourself stepping into the world of gowns that are sparkling, the waistcoats that are tailored, and the private balls that are held in beautiful historic manners. This is not just a trip, it is a full on immersion.
Fred, my bath tour guide is confirmed to take our group on a stroll through the filming locations. There he'll share all those same BTS moments that he had with me. With you. Trust me, it'll feel like you've stepped right into the scene. And of course, we cannot forget a stop to Hampton Court palace, which was in reality home to King Henry viii. You know, the one. Six wives. We are six.
And it's also a backdrop for many Bridgerton moments. Anthony and Edwina's wedding reception in season two, the Greek myth ballet at the Queen's Ball in season three. The corridors and outdoor spaces at the Hampton Court palace have doubled as the Queen's Court, Benedict's Art Academy, and even Buckingham House and Queen Charlotte. A Bridgerton Story. So travel alongside fellow Bridgerton enthusiasts, Bridgerton Influencer at Cassamaran and me as we revel in a bespoke itinerary that is designed to create those perfect hashtag Once upon a time memories. All the grandeur, none of the stress. So if you're already picturing yourself twirling under those chandeliers at the Bridgerton soiree, don't wait. This exclusive group adventure is filling fast and I'm here to handle every detail, so you can simply focus on the magic now before you dash off jetsetters about the lap.
